Turbulence and Transport was a course that was, atleast in 2014-2015, given by guest professor Y. Sarazin from cadarache. The latter makes this one of the courses that is given in just one month (January). The course focusses on the basic transport in tokamaks and slowly evolves to more advanced discussions of neoclassical transport and other new widely applied transport models. In the end, some short stuff on basic turbulence is given. Professor Sarazin is a very good professor that explains things very well and is not afraid to mix up some of the stuff he is working on into the course resulting in a very interesting course. The course itself is stuffed with derivations and "order of magnitude" relations which might freak you out at the start, but you get used to it fast.

Exam

The exam for this course is a written exam, closed book, and is fair in difficulty and work. Note that the task at hand during the exam (one big exercise) will be too big to solve, unless you are a 180 IQ genius but this does not affect your scores too much. The professor is aware it is too much work and grades accordingly. Make sure that your are awake and well rested, as the exam is more mathematics and reasoning based than actual course note knowledge.
