In 2013/14 the language class was only obligatory in first semester and clashes with courses, especially the first year experimental project in second semester anyway.
When and if Statistical Physics is tought by Alexandre Faribault it is extremely interesting and rewarding, but at times very hard to follow as he doesn't use the board or slides. He also asks you to do some reading on your own and prepare a one hour lecture towards the end of the course. The exam is about 30min and done as fairly chilled talk.
